Und gleich noch ein Nachholbedarfling. Genau genommen sind es vier. Die Erstblüten liegen tlw. schon etwas zurück, gezeigt hatte ich sie hier aber wohl noch nicht.

Dieses Jahr hat bis jetzt nur einer von ihnen geblüht. Und zwar der Sämling #3. Und das wurde ihm zum Verhängnis.

Die recht blasse Farbe und geringe Blütengröße von nur 8cm führten zur sofortigen Aussortierung. Was umso leichter viel, da Lebensretter anwesend waren.

Irgendwie kommt es mir so vor, als würde dieser Sämling gar nicht in die Kreuzung passen. Hoffentlich ist mir da kein Lapsus passiert.

Weitere Sämlinge dieser Kreuzung zeigten nämlich dagegen recht beachtliche Ergebnisse.

Sämling #2 mit 9cm, Sämling #5 mit 10cm im ersten und 11cm im zweiten Jahr und Sämling #6 mit 15cm Blütengröße bei seiner Erstblüte.

Diese drei Exemplare befinden sich noch auf meiner Hybridenbank und zumindest Kandidat #6 hat sehr gute Chancen auch länger dort zu bleiben.

Thank you for your feedback and for this crossing. I do have the Riptide by myself and love it. I think it was a good idea to cross it with roal Wallenberg, so it got their powerful colors and the glowing from Riptide.

I already marked the #6 for staying. It don't have to increase the flower diameter as long as it keeps their strong colors.

Number #3 is still living as well. Just not at my balcony. It's now one floor below, at the terrace, in other hands.

#2 has still a question mark, but good chances with that colors. This one maybe should increase little bit the flower diameter without losing it's brightness. We will see.

Today I sorted out #5. But I will give it in other hands, maybe the same as its sister. It's really beautiful, but I already have very similar ones (Krakatoa or another crossing with Raoul Wallenberg) with bigger flowers. Just crossing it with one off its sister could be a reason to keep it, to go for F2 hybrods.

And there should be #1 and #4 somewhere. It seems they did not flower yet or got lost in between. Have to check...

Heute blühte #6 das zweite Mal.

Die Farben sind deutlich blasser, aber die Blüte ist genauso groß, wie das letzte Mal. 15cm.

Schade, dass sie die intensive Farbe verloren hat. Schön ist sie irgendwie trotzdem. Und vielleicht kommt das Glühen bei der nächsten Blüte auch wieder zurück.
